Biography

Mike Cappiello is currently Program Manager for the Advanced Fuel Cycle Initiative (AFCI) activities at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and is the AFCI National Director for Transmutation Engineering. After graduating from OSU, he received an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico and joined LANL in 1980. He has held positions of Director, Accelerator Production of Tritium Technical Project Office, Group Leader and Deputy Group Leader for the Reactor Design and Analysis group, and Technical Staff Member in the Reactor Safety Analysis Group. Prior to joining LANL, he worked for the Westinghouse Hanford Company as an Engineer on the Fast Flux Test Facility (FFTF) project.
